淡江大學自1970 年代開始引進未來學，隨著近年局勢日益錯綜複雜且急速地變化、未來前瞻思考不可或缺之際，於 2015年 11 月成立策略遠見研究中心，以促使將未來學擴大運用到社會各層面，讓人們得以釐清眼前的優先順序，創造可欲的未來。

淡江大學策略遠見中心(Center for Futures Intelligence and Research)的使命在於推動未來學，透過提供大眾與組織前瞻未來的課程與顧問服務，使未來思考成爲不論是產業界、政府部門、學校機構、與研究單位，能廣泛實際運用的知識與思考架構，藉此提升台灣各界前瞻思維的能力，進而促進台灣社會的永續成長。

Futures Studies has stablished in Tamkang University since 1970s. As the situation has become more complex and rapidly changing in recent years, and futures oriented thinking became more essential, a strategic vision research center was established in November 2015 to promote the application of foresight to all levels of society enabling people to clarify their priorities and create the preferable future.

The mission of the “Center for Futures Intelligence and Research” (CFAR) at Tamkang University is to promote foresight, and to provide futures courses and consultancy services for the public and organizations to forecast the futures, so that Futures Thinking becomes a matter of industry, government, school institutions, and The research unit can widely use the knowledge and thinking framework to enhance the ability of all sectors of Taiwan to think forward, and then promote the sustainable growth of Taiwanese society.
